The Studio

Iron Wraith Studios

A seven-person studio in the north of England. We make limited edition dark fantasy collectibles by hand, one piece at a time.

Origin

Founded on a disagreement

Iron Wraith Studios began in 2017 as an argument between two sculptors about what dark fantasy collectibles could be. The prevailing market offered two options: mass-produced resin at low price points, or fine art bronze at prices that excluded most collectors. Neither felt right.

The studio's founding position was that the craft standards of fine art — hand-sculpted masters, limited editions, signed and numbered — could be applied to the dark fantasy genre at a price point accessible to serious collectors. Eight years later, that position has not changed.

Every piece we have ever made is still in production the same way: one sculptor, one painter, one mould, one edition. When the edition closes, the mould is destroyed.

How we work

Four principles

01

Craft first

No shortcuts in the master sculpt. No 3D printing. No assembly-line painting. Every surface is touched by a human hand before it leaves the studio.

02

Lore-driven

Every piece begins as a written brief, not a sketch. The character must exist in the world before it can exist in resin. The lore archive is the foundation of everything.

03

Honest editions

Edition sizes are set by mould yield, not by demand. We do not manufacture scarcity. When a mould retires, the edition closes. There are no second runs.

04

Long timelines

Eight to fourteen months per piece. We do not rush production to meet a release calendar. A piece ships when it is finished, not when it is scheduled.

Philosophy

We make things that should not exist

"The goal is not to make a good collectible. The goal is to make something that unsettles you slightly — that feels like it arrived from somewhere else."

Mara Voss, Lead Sculptor

Dark fantasy as a genre is preoccupied with things that are wrong: wrong shapes, wrong proportions, wrong materials. Our job is to translate that wrongness into a physical object that sits on a shelf and continues to be wrong. That requires a different approach to surface, to weight, to the way light falls on a form. It is not decorative work. It is closer to evidence.
