The Iron Wraith Universe
Three realms. One catastrophe. The relics that survived.
"Every statue begins as a myth. We find the myth, then we find the form it left behind."
The Iron Wraith universe is not a single story. It is a convergence — three civilisations that rose, consumed one another, and left only objects in their wake. Our relics are those objects. Each piece is a fragment of a world that ended before anyone thought to write it down.
The Age of Iron Crowns
The Ashen Covenant
Where kings became wraiths
An empire built on a single bargain: mortality for dominion. The Covenant's rulers traded their deaths to the Ashen Throne in exchange for absolute rule. They got what they asked for.
Entry 01
The Bargain
The first king of the Covenant did not conquer his throne. He purchased it. The price was his death — not his life, but the death itself, the moment of it, the finality. The Throne accepted. He ruled for four hundred years and could not die. By the end he was not ruling. He was haunting.
Entry 02
The Iron Crowns
Each crown in the Covenant was forged from the same iron — ore pulled from a seam that ran beneath the capital like a black vein. The crowns did not confer power. They recorded it. Every decision a king made was written into the metal. By the time the empire fell, the crowns were heavier than any man could lift.
Entry 03
The Wraiths
When the Covenant collapsed, the kings did not die. They had already given their deaths away. They became the Wraiths — bound to the ruins of their empire, unable to leave, unable to end. The Iron Wraith No. VII is the seventh such figure we have documented. We do not know how many remain.
The Green Centuries
Verdant Rot
Life that devours itself
The forests of the Verdant Rot did not grow. They accumulated. Every living thing that entered was absorbed, catalogued, and eventually worn. The forest did not kill — it collected.
Entry 01
The Accumulation
Scholars who studied the Verdant Rot from a safe distance noted that the forest boundary moved — not outward, but inward. It was not expanding. It was concentrating. Everything it had consumed over the Green Centuries was being compressed toward a centre that no expedition ever reached.
Entry 02
The Bride
The woman who became the Verdant Bride walked into the forest on the first day of the Green Centuries. She was a botanist. She had a name. The forest learned her name before it learned her face, and by the time it had learned her face, she had forgotten both. She is still in there. She is also the forest.
Entry 03
The Shepherd and the Oracle
Two figures emerged from the Verdant Rot in its final years. The Pale Shepherd came first — a figure who tended to things that grew in the dark, things that had no business growing. The Rot Oracle came second, or perhaps she had always been there and only became visible when the forest began to thin. She speaks in the language of things that have already died.
The Sunless Age
The Drowned Archive
Knowledge buried beneath black water
The Archive was the greatest library in the known world. Then the sea found it. The scholars did not evacuate. They kept writing. The sea did not stop them — it simply changed what they were writing about.
Entry 01
The Sinking
The Archive did not sink in a single event. It descended over three hundred years, one floor at a time, as the coastline shifted and the water rose. The scholars on each floor passed their work upward before the water reached them. The scholars on the top floor had nowhere to pass it. They are still there.
Entry 02
The Archivist
The Drowned Archivist was the last head librarian of the Archive before the final floor went under. He had catalogued everything the sea had swallowed — every text, every object, every scholar. When the water reached his desk, he began cataloguing the water itself. He has not stopped. The catalogue is now longer than everything it describes.
Entry 03
The Keeper
Something guards the outer gate of the Drowned Archive. It has no name in any living language — the Archive's own records refer to it only as the Keeper of the Black Tide. Expeditions that have reached the gate report that it does not attack. It simply waits. No expedition has reported what it is waiting for.
The Relics
Each piece in the Iron Wraith collection is drawn from this universe. The lore is not decoration — it is the brief. Our sculptors work from the texts, not from imagination. What you hold is what survived.
